Steps for Developing |
A Production Floor Communications System
Areas for consideration when developing a Communications System:
- 1. Simple – Make it very simple for line operators to call for support.
- 2. Accessible – Capability to call for support should be in their immediate work area.
- 3. Review the options for displaying the specific support request in addition to the voice or text communications that is sent out
– Andon Boards, Stack lights, Message Boards, E-mails etc.
Step 1 |
WHAT - Identify what communications you want to occur. With the flexibility of the VersaCall System this can be different for each location. Also what level of detail for an incident you may want to communicate and capture.
|
|
Step 2 |
WHO - Identify by shift who is to receive the message. With the escalation and routing feature of the VersaCall VT2000 System you have the flexibility to decide which individual or group is to receive the message 1st, after a delay period where there has not been a response who is to receive the 2nd, 3rd and 4th communications. |
Step 3 |
WHERE – On the production floor you want to place the VersaCall Input modules – Call Stations, Reason Code Modules or Data Input Modules. The wireless modules can be placed anywhere in the facility. |
Step 4 |
HOW - Decide how you want the message communicated as well as displayed. The VT2000 System can send communications to the common communications devices – 2 Way Radios, P.A. System, Nextel Phones, Smart Phones, E-mail, On-site and off-site pagers, Desktop Computers and more. You also can decide to display the support request including the status on; Stack lights, Message Boards, and Andon Boards. These options also can be wireless for additional flexibility. |
Step 5 |
Layout the system identifying both the quality and type of input modules will support your requirements. |
Step 6 |
Roll Out the System. |
