Steps for Developing |
A Visual Management System
Areas for Consideration When Developing a Real Time Visual Management System:
- 1. Plant Personnel Can Easily See the Production Status – Desktops or Large Screen Displays
- 2. Display Actual Performance verses Target for Easy Understanding.
- 3. Keep It Simple – There is a lot of flexibility with the VersaCall System but the data that is displayed should be impactful.
- 4. Ensure the Production Performance Data that is Displayed Is Accurate.
Step 1 |
Select equipment, area, or line to implement Performance Reporting |
|
Step 2 |
Decide if you want to capture & display performance by shifts, production days, production run, or a combination of production activity and time periods.
|
Step 3 |
Identify production data that is necessary to be captured to support the reporting for the selected equipment, line, or area. After identifying what data needs to be captured, identify where, how and at what frequency the data is to be captured. |
Step 4 |
Identify the data capture methods – PLCs, Operator Input, Switch Contacts as well as the systems and input modules [Call Stations, Data Input Modules, Reason Code Modules] that need to be in place for capturing counts and output performance. |
Step 5 |
Select the Screen formats for displaying the performance. Remember that the performance information must be easily seen in order to have optimal impact. The Virtual Panel III software puts the screen layout and data formatting in the users hands complete with user friendly tools. For viewing distances, VersaCall can provide guidelines for font sizes and reading distances. |
Step 6 |
Roll Out the System |
