1 - System Requirements
The system is to monitor the operator assembly time performance against a pre-determined assembly time standard [takt time] for each of the line’s assembly steps/stations. Each of the assembly steps on the line must be completed in order for production to move and the takt time standard started for the next assembly activity period. For each assembly activity period, the system must record that the work at each station has been completed.
The system must also provide the capability for the line personnel to indicate to line supervision when they are not going to be able to complete their assembly task within the standard performance time period and/or when they need the line shut down.
All of the above information is required to be captured for each assembly period and by system and a visual display of performance status is required as being time stamped and recorded in a database.
Specifically the proposed initial implementation would be for an assembly line with 13 assembly production steps and the same assembly line production time standard of 18 minutes. The number of steps and the time standard can vary from line to line.
2 - Proposed System Solution VT2000 Basic System
13 CS 150 Input Modules with Integrated 3 Color Stack Lights
1 - Input Node for Initiating Assembly Takt Time
Assembly module shown in diagram below but it can be similar input device
2 - Virtual Panel II Software Package
This base software will support 3 separate assembly lines-more lines can be added
