The current communications system has no way to measure the number of incidents, the response times to incidents and the resolve time. Implementing single push button call stations input modules automatically captures and records the number of incidents, the response times and time to resolve each incident.
Results:
The production floor experiences an average of 15 production disruptions per shift with 2 shifts or 30 disruptions per day. The estimated average response time prior to the VersaCall System implementation was 12 minutes per incident or loss of production time of 360 minutes [ 6 production hours a day] . After the implementation of the VersaCall System the response times was reduced to 3 minutes or a reduced loss of production time of 90 minutes [ 1. 5 hours]. With each workstation working on different Part Numbers which have separate bill of materials and builds. There was no automatic way to pass the bill of materials and the build instructions to the workstations. The implementation of the VersaCall VT3000 System with wireless touch screens at each of the workstations provide the operators both the build instructions and the build of materials. The wireless touch input modules also provides the operators the immediate communications of issue.

With the past method for capturing of line performance information was manual and inconsistent, the implementation of the VersaCall’s VT3000 information line performance information was captured mostly automatically. This improved both the accuracy and consistency of the performance information. With VersaCall’s Data Integrity software, the accuracy of the manually captured performance information improved significantly.
